Днес се навършват три години от смъртта на Пламен Горанов.

Пламен (36 г.) се самозапали пред сградата на община Варна в знак на протест срещу отказа на местната управа да подаде оставка.

Самозапалването му (на 20 февруари) бе кулминацията на протестите в Морската столица. Протести от месеци през същата 2013 година имаше в цялата страна, най-мащабни и продължителни бяха те в София. Протестите започнаха с избирането на Делян Пеевски за председател на ДАНС.

Три часа след самозапалването на Пламен премиерът първи мандат Бойко Борисов подаде своята оставка и оставката на правителството си. Три дни по-късно си отиде и кметът на Варна Кирил Йорданов.

Пред сградата на общината в морската столица варненци издигнаха грамада от камъни, която да напомня за Пламен Горанов, но заради ремонтни дейности тя беше разрушена.
